Pirate Party Games
Pirate Birthday Party - Here are some great ideas for your Pirate Party!
Pirat party food
Arrr! Shiver me timbers! How can anyone resist a pirate party, complete with a pirates game and fun pirate names for all the guests? And of course everyone loves pirate food, such as pirate cake, and refreshing pirate drinks after a fun but exhausting pirates game.

When your guests arrive, supply colorful markers and name tag stickers for their pirate names. Guests can choose their own pirate names or you can provide a selection of pirate names for them to pick from to save time. Pirate names could include simple classics like Blackbeard, or find unique pirate names by searching the internet for authentic pirate names, or even use a website that generates pirate names by using your guests' own names. Once your guests are wearing their name tags with their pirate names, all guests should remember to address each other by their pirate names for the duration of the party.

Hosting outdoors not only offers more options for the pirates game, but also allows for easy cleanup when pirate food and pirate drinks are inevitably spilled. Be sure to have plenty of ice on hand to keep pirate drinks cold. When kids are lost in a pirates game, be sure to keep them hydrated with pirate drinks, and don't forget the sunscreen!

After the pirates game is over, all the pirate food is consumed and the pirate drinks have run dry, remember the party favors! Favors could include extra pirate food, a fun pirates game they can play at home and of course a cool eye patch! Between the silly pirates game and yummy pirate food, you can't take things to seriously, just remember to relax and have fun, after all it's a party!

Start planning your pirate food menu with the pièce de résistance, a pirate cake! It's easier to pull off than you think, simply turn any white cake mix into a fun pirate cake using frosting. Frost with store-bought white frosting or homemade buttercream, then add a classic skull and crossbones with black icing. Or, turn your pirate cake into pirate cupcakes! Pirate cake is even more fun for kids in individual wrappers, everyone gets their own mini pirate cake! Follow the cupcake directions on your pirate cake mix, frost with buttercream and let guests write their pirate names on their individual pirate cake using black icing.

Proper pirate food starts with a treasure chest, found online or locally at party supply stores, filled with gold wrapped candy coins. Or, if everyone's had enough sugar from the pirate cake and pirate drinks, fill it with popcorn. Other pirate food could include tropical fruit or chicken drumsticks.

Having a pirate party is popular since it is so easy to buy or make pirate outfits. Making a pirate costume with what you have at home can also be fun! To look like a real pirate, all you need is a baggy white shirt (an old one of Mom/Dad's), a pair of black trousers or tights and shorts. A vest also works well. A bandana tied on the head, eye patch and a gold hoop earring are key accessories - and don't forget the pirate hat! A hook instead of a hand can be made with construction paper and aluminium foil. Cover a clenched fist with foil, make a hook out of cardboard and cover it with foil then attach the two pieces with hot glue or a stapler. A parrot on the shoulder and a sword at the hip will complete the pirate look!

Tropical pirate drinks to wash down all the delicious pirate food are a must! Pirate drinks could include coconut milk, or a simple fruit punch made with pineapple juice and ginger ale, garnished with orange slices. Pirate drinks could even be piña coladas, just make them virgin for the kids! Don't forget to add stickers to the cups for your pirate drinks so guests can write their pirate names on them!

While your pirate food, including the pirate cake and pirate drinks, will thrill and delight, no pirate themed party would be complete without the pirates game. The pirates game could be simple, unstructured fun with soft plastic swords, playing dress-up or simply helping decorate the pirate cake (It's always fun to help make the pirate food!)

If weather permits, consider hosting your party outdoors. A fun outdoor pirates game could include digging for buried treasure in a sandbox, or for a summer pirates game, kids could walk the plank into a kiddie pool!

Make pirate punch with exotic fruit and inspiration from the Caribbean islands (kiwi, melon, pineapple, banana, passion fruit, mango etc.) Mix together exotic juice, fizzy fruit juice and bits of fruit in a large bowl. Add ice before serving. Serve with colourful straws and a wooden skewer cut to size with a pirate flag (see decorations).
Pirate birthday party cake
Make a yummy cake with a sponge bottom and your child's favourite filling. Cover it with black marzipan. Cut out a jolly roger (skull and crossbones) in marzipan or draw it with white icing. Decorate with candy skulls or ready-made pirate decorations. If you don't want to do a cake, a banana split is sure to go down well with the little pirates! Just decorate it with candy skulls!
